AMPD Training

The AMPD INITIATIVE is designed to prepare participants for the world of construction and flooring. The trainings are intentionally developed to build a stronger, multi faceted workforce. The participants will demonstrate an understanding of various flooring systems as well as acquire new strategies and techniques that will becoming a part of their daily work routine.

Concrete Flooring

Concrete flooring is extremely strong and durable, and if it is properly installed and maintained, it can last for as long time. Concrete is the second-most-used substance in the world after water. It is the most widely used building material. Concrete slabs have served as the flooring material for basements, garages, patios, and commercial areas for many years, but concrete is now also a viable material in home interiors, where it can be polished, etched, or stained to serve as the finished flooring surface.

Epoxy

Epoxy is a very safe coating for your hard floors. It's slip resistant, shock resistant, and less abrasive than concrete and other types of industrial flooring. It's also water resistant, and will protect your floor from any spills, including harsh chemicals that would harm other types of floor. Resinous epoxy flooring is made up of a multi-part epoxy system. It is a mixture of hardeners and polymer resins. Adequate drying time is needed. Restaurants, retail stores, automotive shops, garages, and more can all benefit from an epoxy floor coating. Recently these epoxy systems are gaining popularity in small or large residential areas.

Terrazzo

Terrazzo is a composite construction material made by combining chips of aggregates such as marble or stone with either concrete or epoxy-resin. This type of flooring offers durability, design flexibility, and low maintenance. Depending on the types of materials used, terrazzo can be used both indoors and outdoors. Restoring terrazzo flooring requires skills in handling concrete, epoxy and aggregates.

Construction Safety

Construction Safety allows those in the field to gain a basic understanding of common construction hazards you might face and the safety measures you should practice to protect yourself. Understanding standard protocol and how to identify potential can save time and money. his training covers OSHA's general safety and health provisions. We'll talk about the importance of safety training and education, then move on to general accident prevention. You'll learn about first aid practices, fire protection and prevention, and the required emergency action plans that your employer must have in place.

Granite and Marble Restoration

Granite and Marble restoration is needed when the finish is damaged over time. No amount of cleaning, buffing, and polishing can get it back. Most times, granite and marble will need to be resurfaced. Refinishing should be done by a stone professional. A stone professional can help you protect your granite or marble investment with periodic cleaning and sealing.

Surface Preparation

Surface preparation is the process of treating the surface of a substance in order to increase its adhesion to coatings. The single most important function that influences coating performance is the quality of surface preparation. This can be done mechanically or chemically.

Concrete Placement

Concrete Placement is an important process in the construction that determine the success of the structure and its life. The concrete is transported, poured, vibrated, matured, form removed and cured. Each of these phases must follow techniques that will come under good construction practice.
